It was with a sad heart that all at P&B wished director Les Mitchell a long and happy retirement, on the 1st April 2015.
Les has been with P&B for some 45 years. He started with the company when it was only a few years old laying floors alongside it founder Peter Cocks.
Les has always been the ultimate professional with all aspects of P&B and has had a focused vision for its growth. We all wish him and wife Jan a very long and happy retirement.
Not only do P&B lose director Les Mitchell but joining him in his retirement is his wife Jan. Our showroom will greatly miss the wonderful smile, nothing too much trouble attitude and the wealth of knowledge she has accumulated and shared over the years.
We sincerely wish her a long and very happy retirement with Les and a huge “Thank you” for all she has given P&B over the years.

Cecil Beaton’s contribution to 20th century art and design is unequaled. He dressed the stars of stage and screen with style and originality, photographed them artfully in his creations and wrote about them candidly in his memoirs.
Tireless and determined, his prolific creative career spanned 60 years, always at the peak of the art and design establishment. His lens captured the greatest names in every field with an uncanny sense of composition and insight. His stage designs were unparalleled for Hollywood productions such as Gigi (1958) and My Fair Lady (1964), for which he also won Best Costume Design Oscars.
Beaton’s artwork is also uniquely recognisable bold, chic, with fluid spontaneous brush strokes and still just as fresh and relevant to contemporary design today.
